Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was encouraged to say that if the American people elect him as president he would consider pardons for the rioters on Capitol Hill; Joe Biden could only smile after the Republican's statements

President Joe Biden was questioned by the US press about the recent statements by the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, who encouraged himself to say that if he were elected president he would grant pardons to the rioters on Capitol Hill, to which the executive responded with a chuckle.

“Did you see Ron DeSantis said that if he made him president he would pardon Trump? Where are you with the idea that presidents pardon Trump?”

The reporter didn't get a question, but he did get an incredulous smile that he accompanied by raising his hand in rejection and turning away…

While Biden offered no comment on the matter, that smile and demeanor make it clear where he stands on the matter.

DeSantis to grant pardons

One day after Ron DeSantis announced his election campaign, he was invited to appear on the podcast ‘The Clay Travis & Buck Clay Travis' Sexton Show where he was asked if he would consider pardoning those accused of the riot on January 6, including Donald Trump and his response was forceful.

“The first day you will have people come together and look at all the cases, who are victims of weapons or political attacks and we will be aggressive in issuing pardons,” he said.

And added I would say any example of unfavorable treatment based on politics or the use of weapons would be included in that review, no matter how small or large

In early May, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that they had made 1,333 arrests in connection with the attacks on the Capitol and that at least 485 people were sentenced due to criminal activities carried out that day.

DeSantis officially launched his candidacy through Twitter where by the way he had a series of failures during the live broadcast, platform managers assure that it was all due to the large number of attendees, however, the candidate was showered with endless criticism and accusations.
