Universal claims to have legally paid for the rights to all the songs that the singer recorded under his label and if so, he cannot use them to profit from them

Christian Nodal continues the legal process filed against the Universal record label where the rights to some of his songs are at stake.

Apart from the relaunch of his career after the problems he had to face after his breakup with Belinda, the singer from Caborca, Sonora, claims to be the sole owner of the catalog of hits recorded with the label, but the directors of The company claims to have contracts and payment receipts through which they are accredited as the owners of the songs.

Faced with this situation, the 24-year-old interpreter went to the 13th District Court for civil matters, based in Mexico City, with the aim of appearing and signing an amparo again.

In some photographs circulating on social networks, Nodal can be seen dressed in a white shirt, jeans and a cap, waiting to sign a document so that experts in graphology can analyze the rubric and then compare it with others that appear in contracts cited by Universal.

since the company claims to have paid at the time to acquire them.

It should be noted that, at the time, both parties tried to reach a negotiation to renew the employment relationship with the record label, but in view of the dispute over the song rights, for several months the singer was unable to exercise his freedom to record new songs with another record label.

However, the interpreter of the regional Mexican genre dared to sign a new contract with Sony despite the fact that his relationship with Universal remained in force.

In response, the Mexican Association of Phonograms and Videograms Producers, which regulates record companies in Mexico, at the time warned in writing that, in order to hire Nodal and make use of part of his musical themes, the consent of Universal was required.

Under this approach, the legal dispute continues and it will be the opinion of a judge that determines who will be granted the rights to the songs.
