Lady Gaga used her Instagram account to say goodbye to singer Tony Bennett, who passed away a few years ago days; In the message she posted, she remembered him as an optimistic and grateful man.

More than ten years ago Lady Gaga became a great friend of the singer Tony Bennett, with whom he recorded two successful albums. Now, almost two weeks after the death of the interpreter, she turned to her Instagram account to publish a photo that shows them hugging, as well as a long message in which she says goodbye to the artist.

“I will miss my friend forever. I will miss singing with him, recording with him, talking with him, being on stage together… Our relationship was very real. Of course he taught me about music, about life in show business, but he also taught me how to keep my spirits up and my head up... He was an optimist, he believed in quality work and in the life of quality. Plus, there was the gratitude…Tony was always grateful…I've been crying over the loss of Tony for a long time. We had a very long and powerful goodbye”.

In her message, the singer highlighted that there was a difference of more than five decades between her and Tony, but that did not affect their friendship: “The difference in our ages did not matter ; in fact, it gave each of us something we didn't have with most people. We were in two different phases of life, completely inspired. Losing Tony to Alzheimer's has been painful, but it was also very beautiful. I will never forget Tony Bennett. If I could say anything to the world about this, I would say don't write off older people, don't leave them behind when things change. Don't give up when you feel sad, just keep going, sadness is part of it. Take care of the elderly, and I promise you'll learn something special…I love you Tony. Love, Lady”.
