Pele played several games against Chivas de Guadalajara and left a perfect record. He always won and scored even a hat-trick against the Sacred Flock

Pele was a soccer player with a long history in Latin American soccer and in Mexico he was no exception. On multiple occasions he played in Mexico against clubs from the country and Chivas de Guadalajara were the team that suffered O'Rei Pele the most times.

The Rebano Sagrado team dedicated a tweet to him after his death on Thursday, December 29. “Club Deportivo Guadalajara regrets the sensitive death of 'Pele'. World soccer legend who marked the hearts and memories of Guadalajara during the 1970 World Cup,” said the team.

Pele's first match against Chivas was on January 29, 1959 in a pentagonal match held in Mexico City. El Rebano was leading the match 2-1 in the second half, but a Pele hat-trick gave Santos a 4-2 win to show their superiority against the Guadalajara club.

In 1961 they faced each other again and Pelé, who only played a few minutes after recovering from an injury, won again with a resounding 6-2 victory over Guadalajara by Santos.

Before the 1970 World Cup in Mexico, the Brazilian team played a friendly match against Rebano Sagrado in preparation for a clear 3-0 victory over Chivas. Pele scored one goal while Rivelino and Clodoaldo scored the other two goals in the 0-3 final.

In his next outing, Pelé faced Chivas outside of Mexico for the first time. Once again, the King scored against the Flock in Santos' 2-1 victory at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

The last two occasions that Pele faced the Sacred Flock was in 1973 in two matches. In the first, Santos won 1-0 with a goal from O'Rei and in the second the score was 2-1. Chivas de Guadalajara could never tie or beat Pele in a soccer match. The Brazilian star always left his mark in Mexico with Santos or with the Brazilian team.
