459 Guns Collected This Weekend at LAPD Buy-Back Events
Events held by the LAPD were held at Exposition Park and in Panorama City; 138 rifles, 80 shotguns, 168 pistols, 13 assault weapons, 38 ghost weapons, and 21 machine guns were collected
A total of 459 firearms were collected over the weekend in two resident-owned gun buyback events conducted by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
The authorities allowed people who could anonymously exchange the firearms.

They were given $100 gift cards in exchange for handguns, shotguns, and rifles; and $200 gift cards in exchange for “ghost guns” (weapons illegally assembled from kits that are impossible to trace) and assault weapons, the LAPD reported.
Buyback events for the guns were held at Exposition Park and in Panorama City throughout the morning and afternoon of Saturday.
Los Angeles police reported that 138 rifles, 80 shotguns, 168 pistols, 13 assault weapons, 38 ghost pistols, 21 machine guns and one weapon classified as “other” were collected .
The Los Angeles Police Department said guns collected Saturday represented a 69% increase over a March 13 event also organized by the LAPD .
Officials said it was also the largest number of ghost guns ever collected.
