President Joe Biden joined his voice with many other personalities in the United States to celebrate with a message the life and career of rock star Tina Turner, who died this Wednesday at the age of 83, and offered his condolences to her family.

In Biden's statement released by the White House, the president said: “Before I was the Queen of Rock and Roll, Tina Turner was the daughter of a farmer in Tennessee.”

“We send our love to her husband, Erwin, the rest of the Turner family and fans around the world mourning the woman who was ‘simply the best'”,

Former President Barack Obama paid tribute to the admired artist: “Tina Turner was raw. She was powerful. She was unstoppable. And she was herself unapologetically, speaking and singing the truth of her through joy and pain; triumph and tragedy. Today we join fans around the world in honoring the Queen of Rock and Roll, and a star whose light will never fade.”

And former President Bill Clinton also paid tribute to the “Queen of Rock and Roll”:

Tina Turner had retired from the world of music in 2009, at the age of 70, with a prolific career translated into more than 200 million records sold, 22 albums, of which 12 are studio recordings, 3 live and 7 compilations.

Since then, the interpreter has focused on her personal life, marrying in Switzerland -where she ended up being nationalized- in 2013, at the age of 73, with the German music producer Erwin Bach, 57, after 27 years of relationship.

Tina Turner suffered from health problems in the last decade, including colon cancer in 2016, and underwent a kidney transplant just a year later. She passed away this Wednesday at the age of 83 at her home in Kusnacht, Switzerland.
