Halifax Regional Police, Canada, have arrested a student after two workers at Charles P. Allen High School were attacked on the first day after March break.

From According to local media reports, police received a weapons report around 9:20 am at the Bedford-area high school.

“Officers arrived on scene and quickly detained a young man, who is a student at the school”, mentioned the authorities.

The two victims and the student were taken to the hospital for treatment, and the extent of their injuries is still unclear. Halifax Regional Police confirmed the suspect is a student at the school.

The school, with about 1,700 students in grades 10-12, was closed for the rest of the day.

At a press conference, Lindsey Bunin, spokesperson for the Halifax Regional Education Center , described the situation as traumatic.

“We are deeply saddened and shocked by this situation, and all our hearts go out to the students and staff, especially, and their families at this very difficult time,” he said.

Bunin confirmed that two staff members had been stabbed and said the student allegedly involved was also injured.

“Everything was very quick and immediate, so as soon as it was realized that a violent incident was taking place, an announcement was made, which was upheld and secured, meaning students must remain in their classrooms,” Bunin said.
