According to official information, three police officers were injured after an overturn and a fourth agent was injured by a bullet. Until now, his state of health is unknown.

An armed clash between Nuevo Leon Civil Force police officers and suspected criminals left 10 civilians dead and at least four uniformed officers injured.

According to the Secretary of Public Security of Nuevo Leon, Gerardo Palacios Pamanes, the uniformed officers who were carrying out surveillance tours were the target of a shooting attack and the attackers were traveling in several armored vehicles.

In front of the attack, the agents repelled an attack by armed men traveling in three vehicles.

In addition to the alleged criminals killed, the official specified that three armored vehicles were insured, as well as “a considerable amount of weapons”,

However, the state of health was not specified.

In recent months, Nuevo Leon has faced a problem of insecurity as the one experienced in the period 2010-2012 when it was the epicenter of violence due to the dispute between drug cartels.

2022 was even the most violent year in the last decade, adding 1,431 intentional homicides.

That same year, a total of 30,968 intentional homicides were recorded, while in 2021 there were 33,308.

The two most violent years in its history were recorded before, under the Administration of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, with 34,690 murder victims in 2019 and 34,554 in 2020.
