The XQ-58A Valkyrie is a new type of combat drone that can be deployed on the battlefield while being piloted by an AI.

The XQ-58A Valkyrie military drone represents a significant milestone in the evolution of drone technology, being one of the most advanced and versatile unmanned aerial systems in the world. This innovative drone is not only capable of being piloted by Artificial Intelligence (AI), but has also been designed to accomplish a wide variety of strategic and tactical military missions.

The XQ-58A Valkyrie is characterized by its stealth design and its ability to fly at medium and high altitudes at subsonic speeds. With a length of approximately 30 feet and a wingspan of around 26 feet, this drone has an efficient airfoil that allows it to perform long-range missions with low fuel consumption. Its modular structure allows easy adaptation to different payloads, making it a versatile platform for various missions.

One of the most impressive features of the XQ-58A Valkyrie is its ability to be piloted by advanced AI. This means it can carry out autonomous missions, such as reconnaissance, surveillance, air strike, and close air support, without the need for a human crew on board. This capability significantly reduces risk to military personnel and allows for greater flexibility in mission planning and execution.

In terms of its cost, the XQ-58A Valkyrie is relatively affordable compared to similar manned aircraft since its cost is about $3 million dollars per unit. This makes it an attractive option for armed forces looking to maximize their operational capabilities within a limited budget. In addition, its ability to carry out multiple missions with a single platform contributes to long-term efficiency and cost savings.

It is precisely for this reason that the USAF has indicated that they hope to have a fleet of between 1,000 and 3,000 aircraft of this type. It must be taken into account that this would allow us to have a much more economical air arsenal than traditional combat aircraft,

The XQ-58A Valkyrie has also demonstrated its ability to work in conjunction with manned aircraft, providing an additional strategic advantage on the battlefield. It can act as a “wing” in joint missions, providing support and complementing the capabilities of other manned aircraft.
