On his Instagram account, actor Henry Cavill published an emotional message in which he announced to his fans that he will no longer play Superman, as DC studios are working on a new film about the superhero, but without him as the protagonist.

Henry Cavill used his Instagram account to report that he will no longer play the character of Superman in a new Warner Bros. movie , since director James Gunn is currently working on the film's script, but it would not be starring the actor British.

In his extensive and emotional message, Cavill reflected his sadness at the decision of the heads of DC Studios , but wished the team of the new production the best: “I just left a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran , and I have sad news. After all this, I will not return as Superman. Although the studios told me that I could announce the character's return in October, prior to hiring them, this news hasn't been the easiest, but that's life. The changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them, and everyone associated with the new universe, the best of luck and the happiest of fortunes.”

Just two months ago Henry announced the news that he would once again have the role of “the man of steel”, and that for this reason he had given up working on a new season of the Netflix series “The witcher” , being replaced by Liam Hemsworth . And although it is rumored that in the next DC tapehe could count on a character other than the one that made him world famous, he thanked the fans for their support: “For those who have been by my side through the years, we can cry a little... but then we must remember... Superman is still here. Everything he fights for still exists, and the examples he gives us are still there! My turn to wear the cape has passed, but everything Superman stands for lives on. It's been a really fun ride with all of you, both going forward and up.”
