22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal has made it to the semi-finals of the Wimbledon Open for the eighth time. He will now face Nick Kyrgios of Australia on Sunday. In the quarterfinal match, Rafael Nadal defeated Taylor Fritz 3-6, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5, 7-6. With this win, Nadal has kept his career Grand Slam dream alive. He has won the Australian Open and the French Open, while he must win Wimbledon and the US Open to complete a career Grand Slam. Nadal had lost the first set in the quarter-final match and had to take a medical timeout in the second set, but he did not give up and finally won the match that lasted four hours and 21 minutes. After the match he told that there is some problem in his stomach.

Nadal said: 'For a long time I thought I wouldn't be able to finish the match but the crowd and the energy, thank you for that. I'll be honest, it's a lot of fun playing these kind of matches in front of you guys. No matter how much I thank you for your support, it will not be enough."

Superb comeback after a poor start

Rafael Nadal made a poor start in this match and lost the first set by a margin of 3-6. After this, during the second set, he had to take a medical time out due to stomach problem. However, he played well after the break and won the second set with a margin of 7-5. America's Taylor again won in the third set and it seemed that Nadal's journey in this tournament was about to end.

The fourth set saw a close contest between the two players, but in the end Nadal won by a margin of 7-5. Now the last set of the match was about to be decided and both the players gave their all. Eventually Nadal's experience was overwhelming and he won the match with a margin of 7-6.

If Nadal completes his career Grand Slam this year, he will be the second player after Rod Laver in 1969 to achieve the feat. Along with this, he also has a chance to win the 23rd Grand Slam. Nadal is currently in second place with Serena Williams in terms of winning the most Grand Slams. Both have won 22 Grand Slams. Margaret Court has won the most 24 Grand Slams.
