After making a successful liftoff, SpaceX's large Starship rocket exploded in midair just minutes into its uncrewed test flight.

Although engineers from tycoon Elon Musk's company stated that they accepted the test, the precise reasons that led to the collapse of the rocket that failed to reach orbit are still unknown.

“As if the flight test wasn't exciting enough, Starship underwent an unscheduled rapid disassembly prior to stage separation,” the company noted via its social media.

For his part, Billionaire businessman Elon Musk just congratulated his team on the test launch of the massive 394-foot (120-meter) rocket.

“Congratulations to the @SpaceX team on an exciting test launch of Starship! I learned a lot for the next test release in a few months,” he said.

It was the morning of this Thursday, April 20, that the large Starship rocket took off after 8:30 am local time from its base on the Texas coast.
