A woman died and two people were hospitalized after a tragic shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Wilmington.

The shots were reported shortly after 2:00 pm in the 800 block of Lagoon Avenue, in the neighborhood located near the port.

Firefighters and Los Angeles Police Department units responded to the emergency call at the location where the shooting was reported. Three people with gunshot wounds were found at the site, who were transported to local hospitals.

Police later reported that one of the victims, a woman in her 20s, had died in hospital.

The other two people who were injured, believed to be a man in his 20s and a woman in her 45s, were reported hospitalized in stable condition.
